Rudy Westervelt has spent nearly 30 years with The Kroger Co. in key positions across the U.S. His consulting company, Power in Learning, helps organizations achieve operational excellence through leadership training, managing change and making effective use of all resources.
He was a member of the Rotary Club of Lake Arrowhead Mountain Sunrise, club president and Rotarian Action Group for Peace. He is currently a member of the Rotary E-Club of World Peace, D5330 and president of Solutions for Peace Foundation Inc.. His Rotary involvement has been in youth service, leadership training for Rotarians, strategic planning and efforts to better understand and create peace around the world. Rudy is a trained mediator and member of Mediators Beyond Borders International. Rudy served as Rotary District 5330 Governor in 2015-16. During that year, Rudy convened the Rotary World Peace Conference 2016, a Rotary International Presidential Conference. The conference had nearly 1800 attendees, over 100 solution-based breakout sessions, and set the standard for future peace conferences. He was also programs chair for the Pre-Convention Peace Conference at the Atlanta Rotary International Convention and advisor to the six Rotary International Presidential Peace Conferences for 2017-18. Rudy is Convener and Chair of the Rotary World Peace Conference 2020, which will be held on January 2020 in Ontario, California.
Rudy is passionate about peace, motivating Rotarians and others to join together to create peace in their communities around the world. He believes in one humanity, where each person has a right to live in peace. Rudy holds a BA from Cornell University and an M.S. from the University of Connecticut.
